Our Approach
Our brief, problem-solving and goal oriented approach helps you to enhance your skills and reach your goals. Your counselor will talk to you about your concerns and together you will decide the primary issues that need to be resolved.

Counseling FAQs

Q. Do you work with minor children?
A. We provide counseling services to minor children accompanied by at least one parent or a legal guardian.

Q. What is the method of payment for services?
A. We accept several types of insurance, Employee Assistance contracts, check or cash (no credit cards), and donations. No one is denied services due to inability to pay.

Q. What is an average waiting period to get an appointment?
A. We try to give an appointment as soon as possible if it is urgent and within a week otherwise.

Q. Do you provide counseling outside the office?
A. We provide In-Home counseling for seniors who are homebound. We also provide Behavioral Management Training in Schools.

Q. Do you have evening hours?
A. We offer counseling sessions from 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Q. What are the Credentials of your staff?
A. Our staff is highly qualified, and have Masters level Education, with several years of experience.

Q. If I make a donation, how is it used?
A. Your donation will be utilized to provide counseling services to families who are uninsured and or otherwise unable to afford these services.

Our Fees

Family Service Agency accepts the following insurance plans: Blue Cross Blue Shield Traditional, McLaren Health Plan, McLaren Health Plan-Medicaid and Medicare. Employee Assistance and Managed Care Programs provided by employers are also accepted.

For those without insurance we offer a Sliding Fee Scale, which is based on family income. No one is denied services because of an inability to pay.
